It is a six-rowed spring feed barley. Compared to Steptoe, it is roughly 4cm taller, but has much stronger straw, and equal grain yield. The test weight and protein exceeds Steptoe. It has field resistance to barley loose smut and covered smut.

Rollo Barley is a six-rowed spring feed barley. Compared to Steptoe, it is equal in test weight but has stronger straw and better grain yield. It is resistant to barley loose smut and covered smut with moderate resistance to powdery mildew.
